Merry Christmas!

We have had a very busy and exciting week! Yesterday was our Christmas party. We played lots of games, had some party food and even had a visit from a very special person!   Today we we ate up all of the leftover party food in the classroom and we went for a walk around the infants to see what each class has been doing for Christmas.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who bought Mrs Matthews and myself presents for Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing Christmas and we will see you in the new year!

Festive Fun

Here are a few photographs from last week. The children are ready for their first dress rehearsal of the Nativity tomorrow and we can't wait for you to see it at the end of the week. We've also had lots of fun in the classroom on the run up to Christmas.

Maths work

This week we have had a big push on 2D shapes and the children have done so well! They are able to name some 2D shapes and explain how they know which shape it is. We also made some pictures using 2D shapes and they look fab!
We have also had lots of number fun too. We have put the right amount of treasure into each shell in the sand and we've been matching the right number of water beads to the numicon pieces.
What a busy week. Have a lovely weekend.

Christmas Activity Day

Thank you to everybody who came to our Christmas activity day today, we hope you enjoyed yourself and don't have too much trouble getting the glitter out of your hair! The children have had a wonderful day and we are all definitely in the Christmas mood now and ready to begin our nativity rehearsals next week. If you haven't returned the yellow slip to order your tickets for the nativity please do so as soon as possible. Thank you.

Babies

This week we are learning all about babies. The children have loved looking after our babies in the classroom. They've fed them, changed their nappies, dressed them, made them feel better when they are poorly, rocked them to sleep, bathed them and so much more.

Stickers

From time to time your child may come home with a sticker on. This sticker may have a letter, number or word written on it. Please help your child to learn these as it will help them with their learning in school.  Thank you

Library books

Yesterday the children went to the library in school for the first time to choose a book to borrow. We will be going to the library every Tuesday morning. Please return the book to school in your child's purple bag every Tuesday and they can swap the book for a different one.  Thank you.

Remembrance Day

Well done to all of the children who have dressed up today. You all look fabulous. We have been thinking all about what it would have been to to be a child during the war.

Spooky Fun

As it is the week before Halloween and we aren't at school during Halloween week we have decided to have some spooky fun in the classroom this week. The children have loved it! Here are some of the things that the children have enjoyed doing.

The children loved making potions in the witch's cauldron! It was slimy and sticky and there were all sorts of creepy things hidden in the goo!
They have also enjoyed making some fabulous spooky pictures with the paints and chalks.

We have also had fun dressing up, exploring the dark den and making pictures on the computer. The children have had a go at writing their own potion recipes and then using their recipe to make the potion at the potion station. They have tried so hard and I am very proud of how enthusiastic they have been to write! Well done RS!
I'm looking forward to seeing the children in their Halloween fancy dress on Friday!

Autumn Walk

Today we decided to go for an autumn walk around the school grounds. We all put our coats and wellies on and off we went!
We saw lots of autumn things around the grounds and we enjoyed going up to the junior end. We walked over the bridge and through the tunnel.
