Caterpillar update

Our caterpillars have all built their cocoons. We have attached them to the inside of the butterfly net. We will have to wait for about two weeks and then we will hopefully see some changes.

Nursery rhymes

This morning the children have all had a go at writing their favourite nursery rhyme. Here is a small selection of their writing. I am very impressed! Well done to everyone.

Caterpillars

At the end of last week we got a special delivery...caterpillars! When we first got them they were very small.

But over the weekend the caterpillars have been eating lots! They are much bigger today.

We are keeping a close eye on them because when they have eaten enough they will attach themselves to the top of the pot and start making their cocoon. I wonder what will happen next...

Superstar

Well done to this week's superstar who was chosen for doing some very neat and clear writing. I could read every single word!

Bubble fun

Some of the children were having lots of fun outside today. They had some different wands and were experimenting making bubbles. Some of them were very big and others were tiny! Some of the wands were easier to use than others. It was very exciting.

PE lesson

This week's PE lesson was lots of fun. We had lots of different types of small equipment out in the hall and we were practising using them. We had to do the hula hoop, walk with an egg and spoon, balance a quoit on our heads, use the hockey sticks to move the ball and jump around in the sacks.

Some of the challenges were harder than others but we enjoyed them all!

Welcome back

Welcome back to school for the last half term of the children's Reception year! This year has flown by, as I'm sure you will agree, and the children are beginning to get ready to move up to Year One.

We have lots of fun things to look forward to in this last half term and we hope the weather is going to stay as sunny and warm as it is now. Please remember to put sun cream on your child before they come to school and send a small bottle with them that is clearly labelled with their name. We suggest all children have a sun hat with them in school too. Even though the weather is lovely right now we all know that it can change at any moment so please send a lightweight raincoat in with your child each day (just in case).

Thank you.
